This Way Comes

“By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes…”

I’m not about to argue semantics with William Shakespeare, seeing as how he’s dead and all, but he really didn’t paint MacBeth’s witches with an attractive brush, did he? I suppose in his defense it’s not like he was the only one to conjure (haha) up images of craggy crones cloaked in black, stooped over boiling cauldrons. It’s an image perfect for costume parties. And while black might be the preferred clothing colour choice nowadays- at least for drama- I do prefer to glam things up a little bit while trying to keep up witchy appearances.

This Way Comes

Decorating helps set up a proper seasonal mood, too! I look forward all year to putting out the Halloween finery. So go forth and dress in your spiderweb tights and witchy buckle shoes, adorn your homes with gravestones and scarecrows, and if you happen to see spectral things dancing through your yard, just out of the corner of your eye, just remember that the veil is thinning…

Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked

If there’s no rest for the wicked, then I fear Tessa may never sleep again…

All latex is not created equal, am I right? If you’ve not been to Drift before, I suggest you rectify that oversight as expeditiously as possible. Kallisto Destiny has a store full of meshtastic casual pretties that are guaranteed to brighten up anyone’s Second Life summer, but one of the more recent releases is the Oblivion set- itty bitty latex jobs with that brilliant colour-change HUD. With a teeny outfit this delicious, I think we can all pretty much agree that there will in fact be no rest whatsoever for the wicked. And she wouldn’t want it any other way!

“There ain’t no rest for the wicked; money don’t grow on trees
I got bills to pay, I got mouths to feed
And ain’t nothing in this world for free
I know I can’t slow down, I can’t hold back
Though you know I wish I could…
No, there ain’t no rest for the wicked, til we close our eyes for good…”
-Cage The Elephant

Sunny Sunday

So it was around about June-ish last year when I was moaning about my lack of sunshine but here it is the beginning of May and there is this great lovely glowing ball of fire in the sky! I’m not quite sure what to call it, so I’m going to name him Gerald. Gerald sounds like a nice pleasant name. I hope he doesn’t mind.

As a matter of fact, this Gerald- and a handful of other real life issues- got me so distracted that I have to admit I nearly forgot that the Sand & Sea Expo closes tonight! If you haven’t already been there, I suggest you port your pixels asap to take advantage of a whole host of summer/beach themed prizes. Now, my beach doesn’t include a lot of sand but I do have a lovely view of the sea, and to be honest am perfectly happy kicking back and relaxing in all this lush greenery.

Afterwards, I do believe a canoe trip to the waterfalls is in order…I so like my sunny Sundays! Hope yours is coming along just as nicely, and remember to check out the Sand & Sea Expo before it closes tonight!

Cry A Little

So I might have mentioned that a good portion of my artistic ventures are guided by music. I’ve come to the realization that “a good portion” might be a tad on the conservative side. Most of my inspiration comes from songs that get stuck in my head and refuse to leave until I’ve given them their due attention.

Naomi Cry A Little

Whether or not I manage to convey just exactly what I’m seeing or feeling is, I suppose, a matter of opinion- but at least I’ve tried. If that flies in the face of what a “fashion” blog is supposed to be, well…I’ll leave that up to the viewer to decide. I do hope you like what you see, though. I’m beginning to like it more and more. It’s about time, eh?
