Just another SL junkie

Cross Your Eyes…

…and dot your T’s!
No, wait. That’s not right. Is it? Well, even if it’s not, at least something is being dotted! Things be dotty all over the place here. The Banded Dotty top and Spotted Tiered skirt are among recent offerings from Sanura Snowpaw at Somnia, and all the spots and dots and lovely colour combinations have me smiling ever so much.

Cross Your Eyes

I had a terrible time trying to choose footwear…sandals? My sneakers? Finally I decided simply to paint my toes and go barefoot. It’s easy to be cute and feel entirely guilt free about it in this little outfit, trust me. I would suggest porting your pixels to Somnia to experience the cuteness in person!

Sunny Sunday

So it was around about June-ish last year when I was moaning about my lack of sunshine but here it is the beginning of May and there is this great lovely glowing ball of fire in the sky! I’m not quite sure what to call it, so I’m going to name him Gerald. Gerald sounds like a nice pleasant name. I hope he doesn’t mind.

As a matter of fact, this Gerald- and a handful of other real life issues- got me so distracted that I have to admit I nearly forgot that the Sand & Sea Expo closes tonight! If you haven’t already been there, I suggest you port your pixels asap to take advantage of a whole host of summer/beach themed prizes. Now, my beach doesn’t include a lot of sand but I do have a lovely view of the sea, and to be honest am perfectly happy kicking back and relaxing in all this lush greenery.

Afterwards, I do believe a canoe trip to the waterfalls is in order…I so like my sunny Sundays! Hope yours is coming along just as nicely, and remember to check out the Sand & Sea Expo before it closes tonight!

Shine Bright

Oh, there’s not much that is subtle about this blog post- but then again, there is very little that’s subtle about our Tessa anyway. She decided to take a trip to Apple May Designs one day, all sneaky-like, and picked out a little something to bring home and try on. The whole thing was rather surprising, because soft and flowy satin is certainly NOT her usual style. We suspect that this recent rash of dress-wearing is because someone is quite possibly exploring her feminine side for a certain someone else. What other explanation could there be for this moment of glamour?

Cry A Little

So I might have mentioned that a good portion of my artistic ventures are guided by music. I’ve come to the realization that “a good portion” might be a tad on the conservative side. Most of my inspiration comes from songs that get stuck in my head and refuse to leave until I’ve given them their due attention.

Naomi Cry A Little

Whether or not I manage to convey just exactly what I’m seeing or feeling is, I suppose, a matter of opinion- but at least I’ve tried. If that flies in the face of what a “fashion” blog is supposed to be, well…I’ll leave that up to the viewer to decide. I do hope you like what you see, though. I’m beginning to like it more and more. It’s about time, eh?

I Will Wait

I Will Wait

There are a lot of things that inspire me, music being somewhere around the top of the list. When I’m feeling artsy the first thing I do is turn on some music- I can’t create in silence. Music serves as both a source of inspiration as well as a tool to help me crystallize my ideas. Case in point is my newest SL photo shoot and, while it’s sometimes difficult to duplicate the images in my head (especially with a less-than-optimal computer,) there are times when things do in fact fall into place pretty much the way I hoped they would. Beautiful scenery and an outfit that seems made just for me certainly don’t hurt the process! I am, of course, including Lorc in the ‘beautiful scenery’. I don’t think he minds…and he’s worth the wait, oh yes.

Do It Anyway

Just do it anyway…because sometimes things need doing and saying. You might fall flat on your face afterwards, but if you’ve not brought harm to anyone else then it was probably worth doing. You probably learned something in the doing. How else do we learn? We do it anyway!

Do It Anyway

Did I need an excuse to put up a blog post in which I was dancing like I was listening to Ben Folds Five’s ‘Do It Anyway?’ Nope! I did it anyway! Hope you enjoy.

Three Marlenas

Today’s blog is brought to you by no other reason than I wanted to dress up and be pretty.

Three Marlenas

It’s not physical attractiveness alone…to be able to dress up in shiny things at the click of a button is a huge part of it. There are some of us with serious real-life self-esteem issues and a little escape to ‘pretty’ is welcomed with open arms. My time in Second Life is for the most part massively therapeutic, and it’s not because I am looking for ‘pretty’ affirmation from others- ‘pretty’ is in the eyes of the beholder, of course. I look pretty for ME. I end up actually feeling better about myself, and that is the most important thing.

Thanks, as always, for listening to my rambling.
